Work Arrangement

This role is designated as onsite, requiring the successful candidate to work full‑time from the GM office.

Your Role:

The GM Egypt Security Manager is responsible for leading and managing all physical security and fire protection activities for GM Egypt, primarily at the 6th of October CKD Plant and related facilities.

This role ensures the protection of GM employees, assets, products, and information in alignment with GM Global Security standards, contractual requirements, and local regulations.

The position provides operational leadership, risk management, incident response, and continuous improvement while supporting business continuity and production operations.

The role also serves as the primary security liaison between local leadership, Global Security, and external authorities.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead day‑to‑day security operations, including guarding, patrols, access control, and visitor/contractor management.

  • Manage and oversee contracted security and fire service providers in accordance with the Security Statement of Work (SOW) and SLAs.

  • Conduct security and fire risk assessments and implement mitigation measures for the plant and associated facilities.

  • Lead response to security and fire incidents, including escalation, reporting, investigations, and corrective actions.

  • Ensure compliance with GM Global Security policies, standards, audits, and local regulatory requirements.

  • Oversee operation and maintenance of security systems (CCTV, access control, alarms) and fire protection systems.

  • Coordinate security and fire protection projects with ICC, IT, and Global Security teams.

  • Act as the primary security point of contact for GM Egypt leadership and external authorities.

  • Support emergency preparedness activities, including drills, exercises, and crisis response planning.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualification)

Educational and Experience Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Public Safety, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in corporate/industrial security, physical security, fire protection, law enforcement, or military security roles.

  • At least 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience, preferably managing multi‑shift security operations in a manufacturing or large‑site environment.

  • Experience managing contracted security providers and vendor performance.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of physical security operations, guarding models, access control, and patrol management.

  • Experience with CCTV, access control systems, alarm systems, and related security technologies.

  • Knowledge of fire protection systems, fire detection, and emergency response coordination.

  • Experience conducting security risk assessments, incident response, and investigations.

  • Ability to manage SOWs, SLAs, KPIs, audits, and compliance programs.

  • Familiarity with international or corporate security standards (e.g., NFPA, ISO, FM Data Sheets) is preferred.
