Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS), Command and Control & Weapons Integration (CWI) Division is seeking a Business Unit Security Manager 3 to lead security operations for the Global Command and Control Solutions (GC2S) Business Unit (BU).
The Business Unit Security Manager (BUSM) for CWI Division is a senior leader and integral member of the Business Unit Leadership Team, comprised of a geographically dispersed GC2S portfolio. This role is responsible for shaping and executing an integrated security strategy that aligns functional and business objectives and drives cross-sector and multi-division collaboration to deliver a unified “One NG” campus experience for the Huntsville site. The BUSM is a strategic partner, harmonizing policies, processes, and relationships to ensure a compliant, efficient, and mission-focused security posture.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Partnership
Serve as the principal security advisor and active partner to the Business Unit Leadership Team, translating business goals into risk-based security priorities and investments. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing, multi-discipline security team; set vision, goals, and accountability; foster a culture of ownership, inclusion, and continuous improvement. Provide clear, timely decision making and guidance during operations and events, balancing mission needs with compliance and risk.
One NG Campus Integration
Drive cross-sector and multi-division collaboration to implement common standards, shared services, and site governance. Establish and participate in campus security partnerships and working groups with Facilities, IT/Cyber, HR, Legal, EHS, Programs, and Sector and Division security leaders; align local procedures with enterprise policy and federal requirements; resolve conflicts and drive consistency across stakeholders.
Policy Making & Governance
Author, update, and enforce BU/site security policies and procedures aligned to enterprise directives and federal regulations. Build and sustain an effective security education, training, and awareness program; promote a proactive security culture. Define and monitor governance rhythms, readiness reviews, and corrective action plans to ensure audit/inspection success.
Strategy Influence & Implementation
Represent CWI/NGDS in enterprise security forums; advocate for BU needs and influence enterprise roadmaps, standards, and tools. Pilot and deploy enterprise initiatives at the campus/site level; manage change, adoption, and measurable outcomes. Use metrics to drive decisions, track performance and report to BU and sector leadership.
Results Through Teams & External Collaboration
Partner with Program Management, Capture/BD, Engineering, and Operations to enable proposals, new program stand-ups, and milestones. Coordinate with customer security representatives, DCSA and other government agencies, local law enforcement/emergency services, landlords, and key suppliers. Lead complex issue resolution, investigations, and incident/crisis response; conduct after-action reviews and implement improvements. Critical Capabilities

Knowledge of applicable defense/industrial security disciplines and federal requirements; ability to align enterprise policy with site execution.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and minimum 10 years of proven personnel leadership and business management experience in security; or master’s degree plus minimum 8 years related experience.
Current Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain SCI and SAP access.
Proven history of leading diverse teams in operational environments and documented experience managing managers; ability to foster a diverse, inclusive, and engaging team environment focused on high performance and operational excellence.
Demonstrated experience in making critical management and leadership decisions at the business unit level that supports high value contracts across a wide US Government customer spectrum.
Must be able to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
15+ years of leadership experience with planning, executing business operations, and managing a staff of geographically dispersed personnel.
Current Top Secret and SAP access.
Proven ability to lead security teams across multiple disciplines.
Demonstrated in-depth knowledge and skills with NISPOM, conducting self-inspections, handling personnel clearances, and overseeing physical security for classified areas.
Experience in planning, managing, and executing complex budgets across diverse locations.
Experience in development of complex security plans and proposal writing.
Expertise in managing and executing SAP and SCI security programs.
Experience in planning and managing staffing and hiring processes for large teams, including partnerships with HR, Talent Acquisition, and program management leadership.
