Major Duties:
Qualifications: Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience in two or more of the following areas: experience controlling access of vehicles, visitors and pedestrians into restricted areas; experience using automated systems to query and verify suitability for visitor entry into restricted areas; experience transcribing data using special codes in accordance with federal and state regulations (e.g. style codes, manufacturer's codes, wanted or missing person); and experience dealing with difficult customers who may be found ineligible for access. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). Conditions of Employment, (continued): LAUTENBERG AMENDMENT: Must meet the requirements under the Lautenberg Amendment/Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Position is designated as a "Key Position" IAW AR 690-8. This position shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the agency to function effectively. Because of the essential nature of this position, shall require that it not be filled by Ready Reservist to preclude such positions from being vacated during mobilization. Position is designated as "Mission Essential Position". Incumbent is required to report for duty during inclement weather, natural disasters, and other emergency situations as directed by the Commander and may be required to remain on duty after the official shift ends, i.e., mandatory overtime, irregular and/or rotating shifts, evenings, nights, weekends; subject to recall to duty. Incumbent must maintain a functioning telephone to aid in contact during recall/emergency.
