You will report to the Head of Corporate & Infrastructure, SSEA and will be working closely with highly experienced industry specialists, not only in the region but globally. As one of S&P Global Ratings senior representatives in the Asia Pacific project finance market, you will also work closely with global colleagues from other analytical practices as well in the region. The Impact:

This position offers an outstanding platform for identifying opportunities and risks across existing and emerging project finance asset classes. Infrastructure and project finance are some of the fastest growing sectors of the capital markets and a key funding source and growth driver for many economies. Project finance spans across all the major sectors including infrastructure assets- social infrastructure, power projects, toll roads, PPP, renewables, offshore wind, FPSOs, data centers, manufacturing companies and other emerging asset classes providing diverse experience across asset classes. As a strategic leader in this role, you will shape market understanding and drive analytical excellence while connecting current operational activities to our broader enterprise vision. If you are interested in helping to facilitate this growth while challenging yourself in a fast-paced environment, this is the right position for you.

Responsibilities:

  • Shape and lead the Asia Project Finance team's market outreach and thought leadership strategy by connecting current market activities to our broader strategic vision
  • Drive proactive, high-profile stakeholder interactions with issuers, sponsors, intermediaries and investors to build consensus and cultivate a highly engaged network on project finance trends, structures, credit rating methodology and rating approach
  • Represent S&P as a senior spokesperson on Project Finance in the region while leveraging your network across senior leadership levels to ensure strategic alignment
  • Lead the development of well-researched topical thought leadership articles, working closely with other analysts to establish S&P as a leading credit voice on Project Finance in the region
  • Engage strategically with market participants to educate external stakeholders about S&P's project finance approach and assess analytical proposals on complex and novel project finance structures
  • Demonstrate leadership excellence by acting as a role model, coach and mentor to analysts while coordinating outreach and ensuring analytical consistency in APAC as well as globally
  • Provide strategic insights and knowledge to analytical teams and identify key local credit and market trends for escalation to the APAC analytical and Global Project finance team
  • All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week

What We're Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 15+ years of experience in the APAC financial sector, with at least 10 years focusing on credit risk within a large commercial bank, investment bank, investment institution/asset manager, rating agency, or audit company
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field; MBA, CFA, or advanced degree strongly preferred
  • Deep expertise in global and APAC project finance sectors combined with comprehensive knowledge of S&P ratings analytical methodologies
  • Proven ability to think strategically and operate at an enterprise level, connecting operational activities to broader organizational vision
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas across functions and levels both internally and externally
  • Fluency in English
  • We require all candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global Ratings office. This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in television and print interviews, with demonstrated ability to represent the organization as a senior spokesperson
  • Strong organizational capabilities with proven ability to work collaboratively in multicultural environments while thinking regionally and operating globally
  • Track record as an independent and critical thinker focused on solving novel and complex problems while managing multiple competing priorities.
