Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and confident people manager to lead a highly skilled team of development engineers and scientists within Assay Development. This role plays a key part in driving R&D product development activities forward and ensuring timely, high-quality delivery aligned with business and product development goals.
The Highplex department functions as a central unit within Product Development, working closely with other R&D teams and cross-functional partners across the organization. The team supports the continued growth of Proximity Extension Assay (PEA)–based products and contributes directly to innovation in proteomics and life science technologies. You will be based in our Uppsala headquarters and report to Director Highplex, R&D.
A Day in the Life:
Plan, prioritize, and lead the team’s work in alignment with strategy, budget, and key performance metrics.
Provide leadership, mentorship, and direction to a team of R&D professionals, fostering collaboration, engagement, and individual development.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders, including Product Management and Operations, to align R&D activities with business objectives.
Support the establishment, improvement, and adoption of efficient and effective R&D processes.
Ensure compliance with company standards, quality systems, and applicable regulations.
Technical Qualifications
PhD in proteomics or life sciences (e.g., assay development, molecular biology, protein chemistry).
Several years’ of experience in a leadership role with personnel responsibility.
Demonstrated experience in product development and related processes within larger biotech or life science companies.
Proven experience in translational collaboration between Product Management and Operations (e.g., QC, QA, Design Transfer).
In-depth knowledge of antibody-based test methods and immunoassays within proteomics.
In-depth understanding of relevant technologies such as next-generation sequencing (NGS) and a basic understanding of qPCR.
Proven experience in managing budgets, including monthly financial follow-up and reporting.
Basic knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
