Scrum Master / Project Coordinator

We are looking for a Scrum Master/Project Coordinator to join our Pittsburgh (Cheswick) location.

As our Scrum Master/Project Coordinator, you will lead Sprints for multiple priorities in fast-paced environments. The servant leader specializes in leading high-performing and multi-disciplinary teams from custom product development through successful product release delivering highest business value as effectively and efficiently as possible.  The incumbent strives to enable teams to become self-organizing, cross-functional, and accountable while driving products and features from concept to launch. 

Salary: $76,200 - $110,000 per year

Your Challenge:

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Coordinate Scrum Events to ensure smooth workflow and successful project execution.
  • Responsible for coaching, managing, mentoring, and removing impediments.
  • Utilize appropriate tools, metrics and techniques to successfully guide progress against the Sprint Plan.
  • Execute on the product roadmap with the team and assist with communications of product vision, strategy, features, and prioritization.
  • Assist with maintaining and prioritizing the product and sprint backlog balancing stakeholder requirements.
  • Provide Agile coaching for Scrum teams to ensure adoption and improvement of Scrum practices, process and desired outcomes.

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary point of contact regarding updates, concerns, and queries for Sprints.
  • Establish guidelines for project communications. 
  • Facilitate decision-making, issue resolution and consensus with stakeholders and team members.
  • Develop concise status reports and communicate progress, risks, and any necessary changes regularly with stakeholders.

Planning, Implementation & Deployment

  • Define scope, objectives, and sprint deliverables in collaboration with the team and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Product Architects to ensure solution alignment with roadmap and integration points.
  • Facilitate and lead sprint planning, daily meetings, reviews and demos, and release meetings with cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, and process engineers.
  • Collaborate with the team to continuously review business needs, refine priorities, outline milestones and deliverables while identifying opportunities and risks.
  • Assist with user interviews as necessary to help develop use cases and user stories.
  • Conduct testing with the team, identifying and tracking defects and updating proper documentation.
  • Initiate and lead the stage gates necessary for sprint releases.
  • Drive the communication and change plans for each sprint or product release to ensure success.
  • Ensure readiness of user training materials and scheduled training to support implementation and adoption success.

Quality Assurance

  • Follow internal SDLC framework guidelines.
  • Track all risks, issues, actions, and decisions.
  • Assist team to identify and communicate risks and mitigation plans early in the sprint.
  • Address and resolve impediments that prevent progress with planned Sprint goal.
  • Escalate significant challenges to stakeholders and work with them to resolve them promptly.
  • Ensure quality assurance standards are met throughout the development and implementation phases.
  • Ensure documentation is created and updated throughout the design, development, and sprint release.
  • Partner with manager to ensure adherence to process and development standards.

Post Project Review

  • Enable repeatable processes for future Sprints.
  • Drive continuous improvement through facilitation of retrospectives, ensuring teams effectively prioritize, plan and execute on improvement ideas.
  • Develop and maintain tracking and reporting of product performance post-launch to evaluate future investment.

What You Bring:

  • Due to DoD requirements, candidates must be US citizens.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree and 4 years of product or project development experience; Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Business Administration/Management or related field
  • Familiarity with Manufacturing or Engineering systems or process related experience is required
  • Understanding of operating systems and databases to support upgrade projects preferred
  • Demonstrated career experience: 2 years business analysis or product or software design / development
  • Demonstrated career experience: 2 years project and/or team coordination, or related
  • Demonstrated career experience: 1 year as a Scrum Master
  • Preferred Licenses and Certifications (any of the following)
  • Professional Scrum Master I, Certified Scrum Master, SAFe 6 Certified, Project management experience or PMP certification
