Dow is seeking the next Production Engineer to support Higher Glycols and Methyl Glycol Ethers (HG/MGE) production for St. Charles Operations (SCO) in Hahnville, LA. As the Production Engineer, you serve as a vital resource for Operations by applying technical skills to optimize plant operations, resolve plant problems, and enable safe and efficient production of low cost, quality products. This role requires broadened conceptual and working knowledge and experience in job discipline to perform a range of work assignments.
Manufacturing Processes: Deep understanding of how equipment, materials, and unit operations interact to produce products safely, efficiently, and at consistent quality.
Collaborative Spirit: Effectively partners with operations, maintenance, technology, and EH&S to solve problems and implement sustainable improvements. Builds trust and alignment across teams.
Production Engineering: Applies advanced technical expertise to optimize plant operations, resolve complex production issues, and support safe, reliable, and cost‑effective manufacturing.
Plant & Process Safety: Reinforces safe work practices and operating discipline through strong field presence and sound daily decision‑making, while ensuring process safety risks are identified, understood, and controlled through effective application of standards and management systems.
Process Improvements: Identifies performance gaps and leads data‑driven improvements that enhance efficiency, reliability, and cost while aligning with business priorities.
Lean Manufacturing: Applies lean principles to eliminate waste, improve flow, and increase productivity without compromising safety or quality.
Proactive Problem Solving: Anticipates issues by monitoring trends, alarms, and KPIs, and leads root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
Data Analysis: Uses process data and performance metrics to guide troubleshooting, operational decisions, and continuous improvement efforts.
High Reliability: Promotes consistent and predictable plant performance by reinforcing operating discipline, understanding failure modes, and addressing reliability risks early.
