As a Scientist II in Molecular Biology, you will develop next-generation sequencing technologies, diagnostic assays, and molecular biology products that help our customers make breakthrough discoveries. Working with advanced equipment, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product development from concept through commercialization. A Day in the Life:

  • Design, develop, and optimize molecular biology assays and workflows
  • Conduct experiments involving nucleic acid isolation, PCR, RT-PCR, and next-generation sequencing
  • Utilize automated liquid handling systems and high-throughput platforms
  • Analyze experimental data using statistical and data analysis software (e.g., JMP, GraphPad)
  • Maintain detailed laboratory documentation, SOPs, and experimental records
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, quality, regulatory, and manufacturing teams
  • Support product development activities in compliance with GMP, GLP, and ISO standards
  • Mentor colleagues as needed and contribute to a strong team environment

Keys to Success:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, or related life sciences field with 2+ years of hands-on laboratory experience or Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD)

Experience:

  • Applied experience in molecular biology laboratory techniques
  • Background working within BSL2-compliant laboratory environments
  • Experience utilizing automated liquid handling systems and high-throughput workflows
  • Strong expertise in nucleic acid isolation, PCR, RT-PCR, and next-generation sequencing methods
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and develop peers preferred
  • Experience with quality systems and design controls preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Proficiency with statistical and data analysis tools (e.g., JMP, GraphPad)
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements (GMP, GLP, ISO) for product development
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to laboratory safety protocols

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $72,600.00–$90,000.00.
