You might be Hempel's new Scientist! You will be based in Hempel’s Headquarters, near Copenhagen, joining a dedicated R&D team of twelve colleagues and will become part of the global testing community.
What will your responsibilities include?
Design and execute electrochemical tests (e.g., corrosion resistance, impedance spectroscopy) for coatings.
Analyze and interpret electrochemical data to assess coating performance.
Develop and optimize testing protocols for new materials and surface treatments.
Collaborate with R&D teams to provide insights for product development and improvement.
Prepare technical reports and present findings to internal stakeholders.
You have a strong foundation in electrochemistry, and hands-on experience with electrochemical techniques.
Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
Strong knowledge of electrochemical techniques and instrumentation.
Experience in corrosion testing and coating evaluation is highly desirable.
Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
A creative and problem-solving mindset, with excellent attention to detail and quality.
A good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team.
Knowledge of coatings, as well as their failure modes.
Familiarity with testing standards (e.g., ASTM, ISO) for corrosion and coating evaluation.
Ability to design and execute experiments for coating performance evaluation.
Skilled in data analysis and interpretation of electrochemical results.
Experience with instrumentation (potentiostats, corrosion chambers, etc.).
Previous work in materials science, surface treatments, or protective coatings is a strong plus.
Analytical mindset: Ability to troubleshoot and optimize test methods.
Collaboration: Work closely with different R&D teams.
Communication: Prepare clear technical reports and present findings effectively.
Innovation: Suggest improvements in testing protocols and contribute to new product development.
