JOB OVERVIEW

We are looking for an Engineering Manager who will manage the mechanical engineering and design activities for our customer projects based out of our Coal Valley, IL office. You will develop the engineering department’s competencies to meet current and future business needs and ensure there is adequate technical expertise in your department to support front lines (FL) and customer needs in tender and order phases. You will also drive technical solution compliance with relevant KONE policies, safety regulations and codes & standards for full solution lifecycle.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Directs department activities, through subordinates, to design requested solutions according to the contractual specifications the Front Line has agreed with customers

  • Leads, directs, evaluates and develops a team of mechanical engineers and designers to ensure that the organization's engineering strategy is implemented effectively, consistently, and according to established guidelines and budgets

  • Develops engineering competences and processes

  • Forecasts operating costs of department and directs budgeting

  • Collaborates with management, production and R&D, to determine engineering feasibility and cost effectiveness

HIRING REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of experience in KONE engineering or in team lead / managerial position

  • Master or Bachelor degree in mechanical or other relevant engineering field

  • Proven track record in management capabilities in global environment

  • Understanding of new construction and building modernization business and processes

  • Holistic knowledge of KONE solutions, products and processes in his/her responsibility area

  • Understanding of applicable safety and environmental norms and standards

  • Understanding of manufacturing processes

  • Commercial business experience and/or strong business orientated mind-set

  • Knowledge of Lean and/or Six Sigma practices

Annual Base Pay Range: 

The hiring range for this role is $132,100.00 - $173,355.00 The compensation package offered will depend on candidate’s ability to meet the requirements of the role, needs for the business strategy, and a range of factors unique to each candidate, including their skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and location.    


Variable Compensation 

KONE Annual Bonus plan (60/40) @ 15% incentive target based on achievement of company goals and individual goals.
