Hiring: SAP Technical Specialist (Basis, ILM, ALM)

We’re looking for a SAP Technical Specialist to join us at Telia!

We are Corporate Technologies and Services department of Telia Group IT!  And we are looking for strengthening our SAP Platforms technical team and bringing in SAP Technical Specialists to help us out with all the exciting work we do! If you have experience with Basis, ILM or ALM or SAP Solution Manager maintenance and development – we need you.

This role will be responsible for supporting day-to-day SAP technical operations and lifecycle management activities across the SAP landscape, with a primary focus on SAP Basis administration, Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), and Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) – your competences and development wishes will define the scope of work.  

SAP Technical specialist role will have to ensure stable system operations, compliant data retention, and efficient change and transport processes, while providing timely support to business and IT stakeholders (functional SAP teams) across the Nordic countries (Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark).

What you’ll do:

  • Provide day-to-day SAP Basis (or ILM, or ALM or Solman) operational support, including incident handling, troubleshooting, system monitoring, and routine technical activities.
  • Ensure stable SAP system operations by monitoring background jobs, interfaces, transports, and overall system health.
  • Take ownership of incident and service request resolution (minor, major, and critical) in line with agreed OLAs; perform root cause analysis and document outcomes.
  • Support SAP change, release, and transport management processes in alignment with ALM / Solman best practices
  • Collaborate with functional and technical teams to coordinate testing, deployments, and production releases.
  • Support and configure SAP Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) activities, including data archiving, retention execution, and compliance-related tasks.
  • Maintain and execute technical housekeeping and data lifecycle procedures to ensure system performance and regulatory compliance.
  • Support project and enhancement activities as needed, including configuration support, testing (UT, SIT, UAT), documentation, and go-live stabilization.
  • Work according to ITIL practices, SAP change management standards, and agile delivery frameworks (e.g., SAFe), using tools such as ServiceNow and JIRA.

What will help you thrive in this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in SAP Basis or other listed above SAP technical operations
  • Working knowledge of SAP ALM processes and SAP Solman, including transport and change management
  • Experience or exposure to SAP ILM, data archiving, and data retention concepts.
  • Experience working in SAP operations, including incident management, troubleshooting, and end-user support
  • Understanding of SAP system landscapes and collaboration with functional and technical teams (ABAP, Integration, Security).
  • Experience with DB administration, SAP Hana, Oracle, SAP IQ
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive, service-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with technical teams, business users, and stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to take on-call duty (24/7 requirement for the service) after working hours, during weekends and public holidays, and support business-critical incidents outside regular working hours when necessary.

Monthly salary range for this position - 4300-6400 Eur (gross) + annual performance bonuses. Although it may vary depending on your skills and experience.
