JOB PURPOSE

PHINIA is seeking a SAP Operations Analyst to support the sustainment (operations), service excellence, and continuous improvement of PHINIA’s SAP landscape across on‑prem and cloud environments. This role will help ensure stable SAP operations through proactive monitoring, incident and change execution, performance support, and runbook-driven operations, while also contributing to ERP project delivery and PHINIA’s SAP S/4 transformation and Azure cloud migration initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity to join PHINIA IT and play a key role in strengthening ERP reliability, resilience, and modernization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities

  • Support daily SAP operations including system monitoring, job monitoring, interface/IDoc checks, transport coordination, and planned downtime activities — leveraging SAP Joule AI for proactive alerts, anomaly detection, and operational insights.
  • Resolve L2 incidents and service requests; coordinate L3/vendor escalations and maintain SLA/MTTR performance using AI‑assisted troubleshooting and knowledge surfacing through SAP Joule AI and SAP Cloud ALM.
  • Assist with SAP patching, upgrades, regression testing, cutover tasks, and hypercare support for releases and S/4HANA transformation — using Joule AI to recommend test coverage and identify risk areas.
  • Monitor performance trends and system health; raise risks and support tuning/capacity planning using AI‑driven system health insights, predictive workload analysis, and trend forecasting.
  • Execute backup/restore checks, maintain DR runbooks, and participate in annual DR/BCP testing, including Joule‑assisted impact summaries and operational readiness checks.
  • Support hybrid SAP hosting (on‑prem + Azure + RISE), ensuring connectivity, identity alignment (Entra ID/SSO), system readiness, and AI‑driven observability where supported.
  • Contribute to compliance, SOX evidence collection, access governance, and adherence to SAP security baselines — supported by AI‑powered log analysis, access anomaly detection, and automated evidence gathering.
  • Maintain operational documentation including runbooks, SOPs, escalation paths, KBs, and environment metadata in Solution Manager / SAP Cloud ALM.
  • Monitor and support integrations across EDI, SAP CPI/PI/PO, MES, PLM, WMS, and other connected systems — using Joule AI for error classification, reconciliation suggestions, and early detection of integration failures.
  • Contribute to S/4HANA conversion activities, cloud migration readiness, environment validation, and operational readiness for new standards, leveraging SAP Joule AI for analysis and task recommendations.
  • Support automation and continuous improvement through scripting, workflow automation, AI‑driven monitoring, and self‑healing operational patterns.
  • Participate in ad‑hoc ERP operations initiatives, reporting improvements, and cross‑functional IT projects as assigned.

What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related disciplines
  • 4–8 years of experience in SAP operations / application management / technical operations roles (BASIS-adjacent operational experience is a strong plus).
  • Experience supporting SAP landscapes across ECC and/or S/4HANA; exposure to S/4 transformation programs preferred.
  • Experience in hybrid hosting environments (on‑prem + cloud) and working with infrastructure/network/security teams
  • SAP Technical Operations: System health monitoring (jobs, interfaces, queues), transport/change coordination, and basic performance awareness (CPU/memory, dialog response).
  • SAP Tooling Proficiency: Hands‑on familiarity with SAP Solution Manager or SAP Cloud ALM, plus use of monitoring/observability platforms (infra monitoring, logs, alerts, dashboards).
  • Core SAP Platform Fundamentals: Understanding of HANA basics (backup/performance), OS basics (Linux), identity & access (SSO, AD/Entra ID), and integration concepts (IDoc/EDI/middleware).
  • Cloud Operations Exposure: Knowledge of Azure fundamentals (networking, connectivity, VMs/storage, security), and awareness of cloud shared responsibility and operational controls
  • SAP Certified Technology Associate (any relevant BASIS/Technical track) — nice to have.
  • SAP HANA or S/4HANA technical fundamentals certifications — plus.
  • Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ‑900) and/or Azure Administrator (AZ‑104) — plus for cloud-aligned operations.
  • Responsible, reliable, and execution-focused with strong ownership mindset.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills (internal IT + external vendors).
