Compensation Overview:

  • The starting hourly wage for this role is $22.97
  • Hourly Bonus Program

Work Schedule:

3rd Shift 11pm-7:30am

Flexible scheduling, 8-hour workday with overtime.

Employees may work weekends and holidays.

Job Description:

Under the direction of the Sanitation Coordinator, this position will assist in plant sanitation training, policies and procedure implementation, and auditing throughout the plant. The Sanitation Technician will be responsible for ordering sanitation supplies and chemicals, and will be expected to maintain a close partnership with sanitation partners and vendors. This person will be familiar with all equipment and processes in the complex, so they are able to troubleshoot sanitation problems.

Responsibilities:

  • Order site sanitation supplies and accurate match up of incoming items with appropriate purchase orders
  • Organize and perform cycle count of inventory in sanitation supply area
  • Work with vendors on a weekly basis to capture opportunities and innovate the process
  • Monitor sanitation quality (i.e. audits, documentation, policies, procedures and plant appearance)
  • Actively supports and participates in daily sanitation activities, noting issues, and helping to develop plans to address deviations
  • Assist in training of all sanitation associates
  • Issuing sanitation supply items for use in sanitation process
  • Participate in periodic cleaning of areas
  • Follow proper shipping procedures when items are removed from the building.
  • Unload bulk chemicals when supply trucks are received, and maintain bulk totes throughout the plant
  • Work with sanitation team, department supervisors, and vendors to identify cost savings opportunities
  •  Know and monitor all GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) policies and housekeeping within the complex
  • Assist with plant record keeping to maintain compliance with safety, quality, HACCP, sanitation, and all regulatory documents.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must possess basic computer and typing skills, including experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to lift supplies and equipment weighing up to 60 lbs
  • Familiarity with shipping/receiving practices
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills for communicating effectively with vendors and other employees
  • Must be able to work effectively and with accuracy in a fast-paced, complex, and flexible work environment
  • Must be organized, able to prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities, and exercise good problem-solving strategies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three or more years of experience in the sanitation process in a manufacturing setting
  • Ability to recognize and identify chemicals used in the plant
  • Quality control experience including micro swabs and auditing a plus
  • Inventory and vendor management experience
