About the Role

This position is responsible for supporting all commercial and account-related activities as well as business growth strategy for S-OEM, in collaboration with other sales management team members.

The role will support the planning and execution of sales management for Harman Automotive products, including Car Audio, TCU, IVI, Digital Cockpit, ADAS, and future products.


Your Team

This position reports to the Sales Director and does not have direct reports.

 

What You Will Do

  • Major responsibilities are:    
    • Seamless sales management from pursuit phase to M3 gate + Change requests
      • Build, coordinate and manage internal relationship between supporting teams (SBUs, Program Managers, Engineering, etc.)
      • Maintain short term Sales plan and update the data in Salesforce
      • Lead First Enquiry Check (process) for RFx decision meeting
      • Support RFx responses & workshops by interfacing with customers & collaborating with internal cross functional team
      • Manage day to day communication with customer for any commercial related topics
      • Support change request management from commercial view points
      • Support prototype delivery and pricing, tooling cost & development cost reimbursement
    • Settle and amend Non-Disclosure Agreements, Development Agreements, Purchase Agreements, and other business contracts with customer in a collaborative manner with legal team          
    • Develop future business opportunities pipeline, competitor information analysis, benchmarking, etc. to support business growth strategy
  • The scope of the role is within Japan.
  • Strong interpersonal skills in Japanese and English are required, along with a good level of technical knowledge to learn Harman’s products after joining.
  • Key competencies include result-driven mindset and strong collaboration skills.

  • Strong communication skills to effectively convey customer requirements to internal teams
  • Interpersonal skills to build relationships with customers as well as to be team player in Harman by Native-level Japanese and Business-level English.
  • Negotiation skills to find solutions that work for both customers and Harman

 

What Makes You Eligible

  • Business experience working with Japanese OEMs
  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years working experience in Japanese automotive industry
  • Be willing to work in an office in Ota, Gunma or Tokyo
  • Be willing to travel up to 25%, domestic and international travel

 

What is Nice to Have

  • Sales experience in Tier 1 supplier working with JOEMs
  • Engineering background (SW, HW or ME)
