The Sales / Project Manager Aseptic is responsible for the preparation of technical and commercial proposals, full project management from order to acceptance, and continuous support of customers and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities / Tasks

Role Purpose

The Aseptic Processing Champion SEA is the regional technical and commercial authority for aseptic and UHT solutions in SEA.
The role ensures that aseptic opportunities and projects are technically sound, correctly routed, commercially competitive, and flawlessly coordinated across SEA, China, and Germany.

Positioned between technical sales leadership and project execution, the role combines:

  • Deep aseptic process and application expertise
  • Operational sales and proposal support
  • Project coordination from opportunity to handover
  • Strong cross‑regional interface management

The role acts as the SEA extension of the Germany-based aseptic sales/project support organization, while maximizing the use of standardized China-supplied plants and ensuring customized or complex solutions are correctly handled by Germany in line with GEA’s global strategy.

Key Objectives

  • Ensure right solution, right source, right setup for every aseptic opportunity in SEA
  • Strengthen technical credibility and sales effectiveness in aseptic/UHT markets
  • Ensure continuity from opportunity identification through project execution and service support
  • Actively shape GEA’s aseptic market positioning and growth in SEA

Key Responsibilities

1. Regional Aseptic Leadership & Interface Management

  • Act as the central point of contact for all aseptic processing topics in SEA
  • Support SEA Sales, Engineering, Commissioning, and Service organizations with technical and application expertise
  • Coordinate seamlessly between SEA, China and Germany, ensuring clarity on roles, responsibilities, and execution models
  • Mediate between sales, engineering, and project/service functions in complex matrix structures

2. Opportunity Development & Technical Sales Support

  • Support identification, evaluation, and development of aseptic and UHT sales opportunities based on:
    • Customer requirements
    • Plant complexity
    • Strategic fit
  • Review customer specifications and translate process requirements and pain points into robust technical solution concepts
  • Perform technical feasibility checks, application reviews, and risk assessments
  • Support quotation strategies, cost calculations, and proposal preparation for both standard and customized solutions
  • Actively contribute to concept development, prototyping, and complex solution definition for demanding aseptic applications

3. Routing & Solution Strategy (China vs. Germany)

  • Lead and support routing decisions:
    • Standardized plants → China
    • Customized, special applications, complex solutions → Germany
  • Ensure optimal technical-commercial positioning and internal alignment for each project
  • Support efficient reuse and scaling of standard solutions, while safeguarding quality and performance for customized projects

4. Project Coordination & Execution Support

  • Support projects from order intake through installation, commissioning, and acceptance
  • Coordinate:
    • Technical clarification
    • Layouts and flow diagrams
    • Delivery schedules and interfaces
    • Installation and commissioning readiness
  • Support on-site customer interaction, production trials, sterilization tests, and acceptance activities
  • Ensure continuity from opportunity phase into project execution and service support

5. Knowledge Transfer, Market Intelligence & Strategy

  • Strengthen and transfer aseptic knowledge, application expertise, and market insights across APAC organizations
  • Monitor market and competitive developments in aseptic and UHT processing
  • Contribute to regional market analyses and strategic initiatives
  • Actively support GEA’s long-term aseptic footprint and credibility in SEA

    Your Profile / Qualifications

    Requirements & Qualifications

    Professional Experience

    • Several years of experience in:
      • Aseptic process or plant engineering
      • UHT technology
      • Preferably within Dairy, Beverage, Food, or Liquid Nutrition industries
    • Exposure to both standardized modular plants and highly customized aseptic solutions
    • Experience working with sales, engineering, project execution, and service teams

    Technical & Commercial Skills

    • Strong understanding of:
      • Aseptic processing principles
      • Product safety and process stability
      • Engineering concepts and system integration
    • Ability to translate complex technical topics into customer‑oriented value propositions
    • Experience with quotation work, technical scope definition, and risk assessment

    Personal & Leadership Profile

    • Strong technical credibility and hands‑on mentality
    • Excellent stakeholder, interface, and expectation management skills
    • Entrepreneurial, solution‑oriented, and proactive
    • Comfortable operating in international, cross‑cultural matrix organizations
    • Clear ownership mindset with consistent follow‑up and execution focus

    Language & Mobility

    • Fluent English (mandatory)
    • German and/or Asian languages are a strong advantage
    • Willingness for frequent customer interaction and regional travel

    • Regionally anchored in SEA
    • Solid-line reporting to the Sales Support and Offer Management
    • Dotted-line reporting to CTC Aseptic Processing
    • Strong functional alignment with China-based aseptic teams
