Job Summary: You will serve as a CIVIL ENGINEER (STRUCTURAL) in the PLANNING, DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION DIVISION of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND ATLANTIC.
Major Duties:
Qualifications: This position has a Selective Placement Factor (SPF). You must have a current registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) from any state, the District of Columbia, Guam or Puerto Rico. If you meet this requirement, you must provide a copy of your current registration with your application. A copy of a wall certificate that does not show current registration status will not serve to verify you meet this requirement. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the 12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Preparing engineering drawings, technical specifications and studies for the structural portion of civil engineering facility design projects; 2) Using the Whole Building Design Guide (WBDG), current AutoCAD, REVIT, and structural analysis tools including Bentley (RAM Structural Systems), SAP, and RISA products; 3) Leading multi-discipline design teams engaged in the design of complex projects, and mentoring junior engineers on subjects specifically related to structural engineering analysis and design, and preparation of construction documents; 4) Investigating and evaluating existing structures and preparing inspection reports including recommendations for remediation or corrective measures as applicable; and 5) Applying industry and DoD codes and standards that govern the design of building structures.
