Job Description:

Spin Master is a leading global children's entertainment company, creating exceptional play experiences through it’s three creative centres: Toys, Entertainment and Digital Games. With distribution in over 100 countries, Spin Master is best known for award-winning brands PAW Patrol®, Bakugan®, Kinetic Sand®, Air Hogs®, Hatchimals®, Rubik’s Cube® and GUND®, and is the global toy licensee for other popular properties.

What will you work on?

The Sales Director’s role covers leading the sales business from topline (Gross Sales) through to bottom line (EBITDA) and involves overseeing product development/selection, identifying new market opportunities, determining the optimal pricing to balance profit with customer/consumer satisfaction, and directing best in class sales operations above, below, and through the line. They will be accountable to maintain a consistent trajectory of growth, avoiding the challenges that will be presented from a constantly shifting market. The job involves decision-making based on trends and expectations for the future from the executives.

Its main missions are as follows:

  • Define and implement the business strategy and action plans to achieve the objectives.
  • Direct and drive all commercial operations: Senior Key Account Managers, Key Account Manager
  • Manage commercial activity: monitor business results, verify the achievement of objectives and define corrective actions if necessary.


How will you create impact?

  • Develop bi-annual business plans that deliver upon company goals and meet customer needs
  • Deliver product presentations, business proposals and ad plans to customers on time
  • Understand customers’ timelines and proactively provide them with all information and materials required to make decisions and manage business well
  • Work with support team to develop forecasts that best reflect market realities; update forecasts as required, at minimum on a monthly basis
  • Timely and effective review of actual performance to ensure goals are achieved and adjust plans as necessary
  • Analysis of sell through data and market intelligence to maximize business opportunities while minimizing risk
  • Clear and efficient communication with customers; fast solutions to challenges
  • Work independently, but also proactively and effectively with team members to deliver best possible customer service

This encompasses the following:

  • Increase Spin Master sales and market share through assigned and newly generated accounts within France.
  • Source new business opportunities throughout the region.
  • Grow the depth of our distribution and our brands within existing accounts to build brand equity and strong core brand execution. 
  • Prepare sales targets and business plans with the sales teams for all Top 10 customers.
  • Produce monthly reports to include accurate and timely forecasts; target of 90% accuracy in 30 days.
  • Assists in preparation and delivery of sales strategies and joint business plans.
  • Work in a team environment, providing feedback and coaching to your account management team

How will you fit into the team?

The Sales Director reports to the Regional General Manager, North EU and manages a team of Senior Account Managers and Key Account Manager.

What are your skills and experience?

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar role, preferably in the Toy industry.
  • European account and /or distribution management experience essential.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Sales, Marketing or related area.
  • Demonstrated success launching and managing a business portfolio with national retailers and distributors.
  • Fluency in English and German, other European languages an asset but not essential.
  • Customer driven approach and a “go-getter” attitude
  • Demonstrated organization, planning and communication skills.
  • Goal oriented to achieve targets through self-motivation, persistence & determination.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships, both externally and internally.
  • Proficiency in MS Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), SAP, Salesforce an asset.
  • Ability to create and maintain business presentations, Excel files, read POS reports.
  • Ability to travel as needed to Europe, USA, Asia.
