About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our growing Business Development team in the Americas. In this role, you will be the driving force behind our top-of-funnel sales activity, focusing on identifying, researching, engaging, and qualifying new business opportunities for our industry-leading data and analytics solutions.

You will not be responsible for closing deals. Instead, your focus will be on outbound lead generation, nurturing early-stage prospects, and booking qualified meetings for our Business Development Managers. You’ll work on targeted campaigns (e.g. energy strategies in data centres), helping us break into new verticals and accelerate pipeline development. Additionally, you will handover and introduce prospects to our BDM team, and follow the process closely to close, to build an understanding of the full sales process.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build a career in B2B sales within the energy transition space, gaining exposure to cutting-edge market intelligence and a collaborative, high-performance team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute outbound prospecting activities (emails, LinkedIn outreach, cold calls) to generate interest and book meetings for the sales team.
  • Work closely with Marketing and Sales to build and run targeted mini-campaigns into strategic sub-sectors.
  • Research target companies and personas to personalise outreach and ensure relevant messaging
  • Qualify leads based on defined criteria and route to the appropriate BDM.
  • Maintain accurate activity and lead information in CRM systems (Salesforce).
  • Consistently meet or exceed activity and meeting-booked targets.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market developments, and Wood Mackenzie’s offerings to speak confidently with prospects.
  • Gather market feedback from conversations to help refine campaign strategy and value propositions.

About the Candidate:

  • A passion for the energy transition sector.
  • 1+ years’ experience in a B2B SDR or lead generation role, ideally in a data, SaaS, or analytics environment (or strong appetite to learn).
  • Comfortable holding outbound meetings and creating engaging written outreach.
  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and goal-oriented.
  • Curious mindset with the ability to quickly learn about technical topics and market drivers.
  • Collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

What the Role Offers:

  • Structured onboarding and continuous sales development training.
  • Clear career progression path into sales or marketing roles.
  • Opportunity to work on exciting campaigns tied to the most pressing energy challenges globally.
  • A collaborative and mission-driven team culture.
  • Competitive salary and commission package
