We are now hiring our:

Safety Specialist

This role will report directly to the Global Field Service Leader, Coperion GmbH. You will also be part of our global HSE team, with a dotted line to the Regional Environmental, Health and Safety Leader - EMEA.

Responsibilities:

  • Support and advise the Field Service team on all matters related to occupational health, safety, and accident prevention.
  • Perform duties as a Safety Specialist (m/f/d) according to §§ 6, 9, and 10 of the German Occupational Safety Act (ASiG).
  • Maintain the Occupational Safety Management System in accordance with ISO 45001, including participation in audits and conducting internal audits per ISO 45001, 9001, and 19011 standards.
  • Conduct construction site safety inspections and accident analyses.
  • Deliver employee training sessions on work safety.
  • Contribute to the creation and review of risk assessments within the Service department.
  • Ensure the documentation of all occupational safety measures is accurate, complete, and up-to-date, including all necessary proofs and records.
  • Manage the EPLAS safety software with administrative responsibilities.
  • Provide reports to management and HSE responsible persons, monitor KPIs.
  • Collaborate with customers, internal departments, and external service providers.
  • Act as the process owner for the SGA process (MAPS).

Requirements:

  • Technical qualification such as a Technician or Master craftsman (m/f/d) or equivalent.
  • Existing training as a Safety Specialist according to §7 ASiG, or willingness to undertake this part-time.
  • Certification as an Internal Occupational Safety Auditor (ISO 45001 / 19011), or willingness to obtain certification during employment.
  • Experience in Safety management, in direct contact with Factory, Field Service or technical field service. Experience as a Field Service Engineer, combined with a willingness to learn more about Safety, could also be an asset.
  • Experience in the petrochemical/ chemical industry would be appreciated, given our activity in the plastics industry.
  • Excellent knowledge of German regulations and laws related to occupational safety and fire protection.
  • Structured and independent working style.
  • Experience in project management, and communication skills.
  • Fluent in both German and English Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Willingness to travel for field assignments (up to 10%), mainly within Germany.
