Job Summary: You will serve as a Safety and Occupational Health Manager in the FDRMC Commander of FW DEPLOYED REG MAINT CTR DET BAHRAIN.

Major Duties:

  • You will serve as the technical expert in specialized areas related to environmental, occupational safety and health issues for FDRMC.
  • You will conduct risk assessments of tasks assigned to Detachment FDRMC Personnel.
  • You will be responsible for management of the FDRMC Detachment assigned hazard abatement program in accordance with Navy policy.
  • You will report to the OIC periodically on status of safety program work accomplishments, problems, progress in mastering tasks and work processes, and individual and team training needs.
  • You will be responsible for conducting annual reviews of assigned ESH programs to include the review of standard operations procedures and instructions.

Qualifications: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1. Developing policies or procedures on safety and occupational health programs to ensure compliance with federal and local environmental, occupational safety and health laws; AND 2. Conducting inspections and oversight to ensure projects are maintained in a safe and compliant fire safety and prevention posture; AND 3. Providing guidance and solutions on safety and occupation al health programs to employees who work in maintenance facilities and shipboard industrial work environments, for safe maintenance operations; AND 4. Preparing reports and collecting data to brief leadership on command safety and occupational health program and concerns to assure them of command compliance of safety and occupational requirements. In the event of a crisis situation, the incumbent, or designated alternative, must continue to perform the E-E duties until relieved by proper authority. The incumbent, or designated alternative, may be required to take part in readiness exercises. This position cannot be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the organization to function effectively. This meets the criteria of an E-E position and requires that the incumbent, or designated alternative, be removed from military recall status. Incumbent will be required to sign a Department of Defense Overseas Emergency Essential position Agreement, DD Form 2365.
