The Opportunity:

As a Rural Graduate Valuer, you’ll be based in Hamilton or Tauranga, working with a small team of rural and lifestyle valuers across the Waikato and Bay of Plenty region. This role combines fieldwork with office‑based learning and is designed to support your journey toward professional registration through structured mentoring and hands‑on experience.

You’ll gain exposure to:

  • Rural, lifestyle, and specialist property valuations
  • Roll maintenance, revaluations, and objections for rating purposes
  • Property inspections, data collection, and market analysis
  • Professional valuation standards and statutory requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with preparing rural and lifestyle property valuations under supervision
  • Undertake property inspections, measurements, and data verification
  • Collect and analyse sales evidence and rural market data
  • Support general revaluations, roll maintenance, and objection processes
  • Accurately input and maintain property and sales data in valuation systems
  • Prepare valuation information and draft reports for review
  • Deliver professional, responsive service to internal and external stakeholders
  • Actively participate in training, mentoring, and professional development

About You:

You’re motivated, organised, and keen to build a long‑term career in rural valuation. You enjoy working both outdoors and in the office and thrive in a collaborative, small‑team environment.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • A degree in Property, Business (Property), or an equivalent qualification recognised by the NZ Valuers Registration Board
  • A genuine interest in rural, lifestyle, and land‑based property markets
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • A team‑focused mindset and willingness to learn
  • Willingness to travel within the Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Property‑related degree (completed or near completion)
  • Membership, or eligibility for membership, of PINZ
  • Current, clean New Zealand Driver’s Licence
  • Eligibility to work in New Zealand
  • Based in, or willing to work from, Hamilton or Tauranga
