Job Description
As the Record to Report Global Process Owner Analyst, you will play an essential role in optimizing end-to-end process design within the R2R workstream. This remarkable opportunity allows you to drive efficiency, improve productivity, and ensure detailed collaboration across our key finance functions. You will collaborate with extraordinary professionals and bring your analytical skills to successfully complete process transformation initiatives that align with Thermo Fisher Scientific's business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Process Analysis & Design
- Support the end-to-end R2R process taxonomy, contributing to global standardization and best practices
- Conduct walkthroughs of as-is processes and support process mapping activities
- Develop ideal state SOP documentation and drive process standardization
- Identify Blackline Studio 360 use cases and support automation opportunities
- Gather data to support project scoping and design decisions
Project Execution & Delivery
- Execute assigned tasks and activities as directed by the GPO Project Lead
- Take ownership of assigned workstreams, ensuring alignment with overall project objectives
- Support testing, implementation, and hypercare phases
- Ensure timely delivery of tasks and project deliverables
- Report progress, risks, and issues to the GPO Project Lead
Technical & Functional Support
- Provide accounting process expertise and operational support
- Provide technical expertise and support across systems and process areas
- Assist in resolving process and system-related issues
Strategic & Cross-functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with Accounting Operations, Financial Accounting, Controllers, Compliance, Internal Audit, PPI, Digital Enablement, and IT teams
- Participate in project meetings, providing input to support decision-making
Compliance & Controls
- Help establish and maintain a strong accounting control environment within GBS Shared Services Operations
- Actively participate in governance forums and workstream meetings
Training & Development
- Collaborate with Operations teams to ensure effective training on policies, procedures, and systems
- Foster a continuous improvement and change mindset across stakeholders, supporting adoption of standardized processes and PPI principles
Technology Enablement & Continuous Improvement
- Support process design and future improvements of enabling technology
- Assess business requirements and identify opportunities for simplification and standardization
- Assist in initiatives that improve efficiency, effectiveness, and overall process performance
Process Oversight & Performance
- Support process documentation and stabilization efforts
- Identify inefficiencies or gaps and support remediation actions
- Review key metrics, track root causes of issues, and support performance improvements
Skills & Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in finance or accounting, with 1-3 years in a Shared Services structure.
- Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively.
- Strong business insight, capable of supporting strategic decisions with a broad perspective.
- Ability to balance big-picture thinking with attention to detail, with an understanding of upstream and downstream process impacts.
- Experience collaborating with key technology collaborators and external vendors for technology implementations.
- Proven success in supporting complex, cross-functional projects.
- Ability to inspire change, influence teams, and maintain motivation across departments.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and engagement skills for working with senior management and business partners.
- Ability to align Finance objectives with the broader goals of Thermo Fisher Scientific.
Location & Travel Requirements:
- This position does not require relocation; however, travel may be required ~10%
