What we expect:
The In-Room Dining Supervisor supports the daily operations of the IRD department with a primary focus on AM and PM shift supervision, service execution, and team guidance. This is a hands-on operational role ensuring the timely delivery of exceptional IRD services and smooth day-to-day functioning of the department.
Responsibilites:
Job duties include but are not limited to:
Supervise daily IRD operations to ensure timely, accurate order taking, tray/trolley assembly, delivery, and clearing.
Perform opening and closing duties, ensuring all areas are stocked, organized, and ready for service.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of IRD pantries, staging areas, and guest hallways.
Ensure equipment such as hot boxes, trolleys, and service amenities are clean, functional, and properly stored.
Support minibar restocking, auditing, and amenity preparation as needed.
Provide warm, personalized service and maintain a visible presence throughout service periods.
Respond promptly to guest needs, concerns, or special requests, escalating issues when appropriate.
Ensure all sequences of service, Forbes standards, and Four Seasons core standards are followed consistently.
Lead daily pre-shift meetings to communicate assignments, standards, and operational details.
Provide on-the-floor coaching to IRD Servers, Order Takers, and Attendants.
Assist in onboarding and training new employees on service procedures and department protocols.
Support adherence to grooming standards, professionalism, and departmental expectations.
Coordinate and supervise IRD support for press junkets when in-house, ensuring timely delivery of orders to media suites, hospitality suites, and production spaces.
Act as the point of contact on assigned shifts for junket-related IRD needs, working closely with PR, Guest Relations, and Banquets.
Oversee staging, tray/trolley logistics, amenity placements, and service timing to ensure seamless operations.
Support talent-related service requests discreetly, maintaining confidentiality and high service standards.
Ensure staff assigned to junket coverage are briefed and follow proper service protocols
Maintain daily logs and communication tools to ensure smooth shift transitions.
Ensure proper billing accuracy for IRD orders, amenities, and junket-related service activity.
Maintain par levels for supplies and communicate replenishment needs to the Manager.
Coordinate with Culinary, Housekeeping, Front Desk, and other departments to support smooth service flow.
Uphold all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene requirements.
Ensure proper handling of equipment, hot items, and cleaning materials.
Respond appropriately to emergencies or safety situations following hotel procedures.
Skills/Qualifications:
Ideal candidate will have:
Two to three years previous experience in a line, supervisory or assistant manager position in Food & Beverage.
Knowledge of food & beverage service, cost control, labor control, maintenance, merchandising, and accounting.
Requires ability to operate computer equipment and other food & beverage computer systems.
Requires reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.
This position requires an applicant with a flexible schedule and the ability to work all shifts, weekends and holidays.
