Job Description:

Supervise the care being given to the surgical patients in the Pre-op and PACU areas on a daily basis. Plans the daily staffing assignments to maximize efficiency.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Supervise the care being given to surgical patients in the Pre-op /PACU area.

  • Provide direct patient care in the Pre-op/PACU areas.

  • Must have strong computers skills (EPIC platform)

  • Coordinate the orientation of new staff members to the Pre-op/PACU area.

  • Reporting of all patient, visitor, physician or employee complaints.

  • Reporting of any injuries to any person within the facility.

  • Plan the daily work schedules and staff assignments.

  • Perform annual staff evaluations

  • Ensure annual staff education

  • Order medications for the pre-op and PACU areas.

  • Order narcotics for MESC.

  • Ensure that the needed clinical supplies are ordered.

  • Assist with new MD orientation

General Responsibilities

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
     

Experience Requirements

  • 3 or more years' experience in a healthcare setting, preferably as a Charge Nurse or Assistant Nurse Manager in an outpatient setting.

License/Certification/Registration Requirements

  • Current ACLS (American Heart Association) and PALS (American Heart Association) certifications required at hire.

  • Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC)

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills

  • Good analytical skills

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Possess strong time and project management skills
