Job Description

About the Position: This role is responsible for facilitating and coordinating the Risk Management Program for Griffin Memorial Hospital.

Typical Job Duties:

  • Review Critical Incident reports and Workers’ Compensation claims.

  • Identify and analyze trends related to workplace accidents, staff injuries, property damage, and compliance issues. Provide consultation on injury prevention, staff training needs, and procedural improvements.

  • Develop and monitor corrective action plans based upon identified risk

  • Conduct on-site inspections to assess facility safety programs, identify areas for improvement, and ensure compliance with JCAHO, CARF, OSHA, and Life Safety Standards.

  • Participate in Safety Committee meetings to ensure alignment with departmental risk management and safety practices.

  • Participate in Quality Assurance and Process Improvement committee meetings

  • Prepare and present, routine and ad-hoc, reporting as it relates the risk management program

  • Serve as the facility’s liaison with the Department of Labor, DCS Risk Management, the State Insurance Fund, and the State Fire Marshal, ensuring timely resolution of any agency-related issues.

  • Coordinate biannual OSHA on-site visits and participate in all OSHA and State Fire Marshal inspections.

  • Represent the facility’s risk management program during accreditation surveys (JCAHO, CMS, OHCA)

Job Type/Salary:

  • Annual Salary is $56,800/yr - $ 27.30/hr

  • Primary Working Hours are M-F; 8-5

  • FLSA Status: Exempt

  • Full-time

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and experience substituting one year of professional level experience for each year of the required education.

Preference given to applicants experience in safety, safety inspection, safety education, engineering or risk management.

About us:

Griffin Memorial Hospital (GMH), located in Norman, Oklahoma, is a 120-bed acute psychiatric hospital serving adults (ages 18+) with severe mental illness. As part of the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS), GMH provides inpatient psychiatric care and substance abuse treatment to individuals from all 77 counties across the state.
