Systems Administrator - TS/SCI with Poly

Leidos is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to join our team in supporting mission-critical IT infrastructure. This role is ideal for a professional with solid systems administration expertise, particularly in pipeline automation and/or VMware environments across Windows and/or Linux platforms. You will work in a collaborative, high-security environment, ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of systems that support national security objectives. 

This position involves hands-on administration, automation of deployment pipelines, virtualization management, and troubleshooting in a dynamic setting. The ideal candidate will bring mid-level experience to optimize system performance, implement automation solutions, and maintain compliance with stringent security protocols. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Administer and maintain Windows and/or Linux servers, including installation, configuration, patching, and performance tuning. 
  • Design, implement, and manage pipeline automation for CI/CD processes using tools like Jenkins, Ansible, or similar to streamline deployments and operations. 
  • Manage VMware environments (e.g., vSphere, ESXi), including virtual machine provisioning, resource allocation, clustering, and disaster recovery. 
  • Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and perform root cause analysis for hardware, software, and network-related problems. 
  • Ensure compliance with security standards, including vulnerability scanning, remediation, and audit support in a classified environment. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., developers, security engineers) to integrate systems and automate workflows. 
  • Participate in on-call rotations, system upgrades, and capacity planning to support 24/7 operations. 
  • Document procedures, configurations, and best practices for knowledge sharing and continuity. 
  • Stay current with emerging technologies in systems administration, automation, and virtualization. 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of experience or a Masters degree with 2+ years of experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • US Citizen with an active TS/SCI with Poly security clearance. 
  • Proven experience in systems administration for Windows and/or Linux environments. 
  • Hands-on experience with pipeline automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Ansible) and/or VMware technologies (e.g., vSphere, vCenter). 
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python for automation tasks. 
  • Understanding of networking concepts, storage solutions, and cloud integration (e.g., AWS, Azure). 
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex issues in high-stakes environments. 
  • Excellent communication skills for team collaboration and documentation. 
  • CompTIA Security+ certification 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications such as RHCE, MCSE, VCP (VMware Certified Professional). 
  • Experience in DevOps practices, containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), or infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform). 
  • Knowledge of federal security standards (e.g., NIST, FISMA) and experience in classified environments. 
  • Exposure to hybrid/multi-cloud setups or advanced virtualization features like NSX.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00
