Risk & Compliance Manager

 

Job summary

§  Working closely with Accenture Workplace Compliance Lead for ongoing compliance efforts, manage risk and legal compliance programs.

§  Participate in Compliance audits as part of a cross functional team.

§  Lead, motivate and deploy a compliance team

 

Key responsibilities: Statutory and Regulatory Compliances

§  Ensure timely compliances of all statutory requirements applicable to Accenture in the assigned States.

§  Identify new laws and regulations applicable to the company and achieve its implementation across functions.

§  Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk.

§  Develops/implements corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues, and provide general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.

§  To document and maintain compliance systems and processes.

§  Provide support to Accenture Workplace Compliance Lead.

§  Ensure regular audit of contractors statutory compliance records(e.g. on payment of PF &ESIC on monthly basis)

§  Ensuring timely closure of Inspection notices issued with appropriate reply and documentations within specified Turnaround time.

§  Handling litigation matters arising out of Work place compliances, Labor Laws compliances.

§  Liaoning with various Govt. Officials and legal advisors on legal issues, notices of non-compliances received and ensure closure of the same.

§  Oversee and otherwise assist management with activities designed to close identified gaps or to remediate identified instances of non-compliance.

 

Education Qualification: Compliance

§  LLB, CS/ CA preferred but not mandatory

 

Work Experience: Compliance Team

§  As set forth in the Job description, suitable candidate will have experience of handling labor laws issues in compliance, in-house legal, external legal and/or an auditing role (or some combination thereof)

§  7+ years of experience

§  A suitable candidate will be able to lead but will be expected to work closely and collaboratively with stakeholders such as Legal, Clients, Vendors, Senior management.

§  The candidates preferred background will be legal manager in Multi-National companies with experience of having handled litigations.

§  Candidate with more varied background with substantial compliance experience may also be interesting to consider.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

§  Comprehensive knowledge of general corporate Procurement and Business Practices, government and commercial contracting regulations and principles subcontracting practices and accounting and finance principles

§  Good understanding of Labour Laws

§  Able to resolve contracts commercial and pricing issues

§  Able to advise and interact with all levels of management

§  Able to demonstrate excellent analytical and mathematical skills

§  Excellent oral and written communication and negotiation skills

§  Demonstrated proficiency in using Spreadsheets Microsoft Word PowerPoint and Visio

§  Knowing when and where to apply skills and when to escalate

§  Ability to bring in a more junior resource Willingness to train junior resources and help or encourage others to succeed

§  Delivering additional CM leadership responsibilities on top of allocated role

§  Demonstrates daily the implementation of CMs vision mission and processes

§  Works collaboratively with the other parts of Clients – Legal, Procurement etc.

§

§  Accepting and adhering to high ethical, moral and personal values in decisions, communications and actions

§  Demonstrated experience prioritizing conflicting demands from multiple business clients in an extremely fast paced environment

§  To develop new initiatives and make decisions under the guidance of Manager

§  Responsible for reviewing procedures to ensure that they remain in line with regulatory and business development.
