Job Description

What is the Opportunity?

We are looking for a Risk and Technology Solution Manager to support the new products development and growth of our business alongside the enhancement and modernisation of our risk monitoring framework.

RBC’s expectation is that all employees and contractors will work in the office with some flexibility to work up to 1 day per week remotely, depending on working arrangements.

What will you do?

  • Carry out initial risk analysis of product, design policies and procedures, implement risk controls and monitoring framework.
  • Review production tools and automation of processes.
  • Develop and enhance new controls to address regulatory needs, to assess data quality and model risk as well as to meet business requests.
  • Measure, monitor, report and manage the exposure of the funds to market risk, liquidity risk, sustainability risk and counterparty risk, and the exposure of the funds to all other risks, including operational risk.
  • Monitor regulatory development, execute regulatory gap analysis, address periodic report and ad-hoc supervisory requests.
  • Act as point of contact and ensure cooperation, integration and alignment with the group infrastructure.

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have

  • Masters degree or equivalent (Business or engineer degree, mathematics, physics, statistics), with focus on finance or risk management;
  • Advanced quantitative and numerical skills
  • Advanced coding and programming capabilities (Python, SQL)
  • Financial markets and instruments competence
  • Risk management knowledge
  • Critical thinking
  • Strong collaboration and relationship building skills
  • Scientific and analytical mindset
  • Regulatory framework proficiency

Nice to have

  • Additional qualifications would be an asset (e.g. CAIA, FRM, CFA, PRM, CQF, ESG).
