Risk and Payments Manager

The Manager, Risk and Payments oversees the day-to-day operations of the Risk & Payments team to ensure secure, compliant, and efficient processing of financial transactions. This role plays a pivotal part in safeguarding the business against fraud, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering seamless customer payment experiences. Reporting to the Director of Fraud and Payment Operations, the manager collaborates with internal stakeholders and external partners to optimize systems, processes, and team performance in alignment with organizational objectives.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead and manage daily operations of the Risk & Payments team, meeting key performance and compliance metrics.
  • Supervise and mentor team supervisors to promote performance, development, and process adherence.
  • Oversee manual withdrawal workflows, KYC reviews, and fraud escalations, ensuring compliance without sacrificing customer satisfaction.
  • Partner with the Fraud Manager to refine fraud detection strategies and manage chargebacks and disputes.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Fraud, Product, and Technology teams to evolve payment rules, enhance reporting, and improve platforms like RSI RushPay.
  • Manage VIP payment programs to ensure high-value customers receive efficient, low-friction service.
  • Conduct audits, reconciliations, and internal controls to ensure adherence to AML, PCI-DSS, and gaming regulations.
  • Develop training materials and lead programs for Payments staff and cross-functional collaborators.
  • Act as the primary liaison with payment processors, acquirers, and fraud prevention vendors to align on cost-efficiency and innovation.
  • Deliver executive-level reporting on payment KPIs, risk trends, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties aligned with the strategic payments roadmap and overall business goals.
  • Supervises supervisors and/or individual contributors in the Payments team.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field preferred
  • 5+ years of management experience in financial services, compliance, or payments operations; iGaming or sports betting experience preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of payment systems, chargeback mitigation, and risk management.
  • Understanding of iGaming and sports wagering payment flows and customer behaviors.
  • Analytical mindset with experience in data-driven decision-making and performance tracking.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for reporting and documentation.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across diverse teams.
  • Excellent time and task management in fast-paced operational environments.
  • Proven leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to guide both independent and team work.
  • Working knowledge of AML, KYC, PCI-DSS, responsible gaming, and industry-specific compliance requirements.
  • Able to travel occasionally both domestically and internationally
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required gaming licenses or certifications. #LI-HYBRID

The pay range reflects potential variations in experience, skills, and location. The pay range does not reflect total compensation, which includes base pay, benefits, and/or bonuses. For candidates outside the US (Canada, Europe, Latin America), we take a locally informed approach to compensation and will share specific ranges based on your country of residence.

$80,000$110,000 USD
