Senior Project Consultant / Credit Risk

Would you like to help shape a strategically important part of our auto business?

Santander Consumer Bank Nordics is the Nordic leader in auto financing, combining local scale with global strength. We are strengthening our Auto SME Risk function and are looking for an experienced professional who can drive change, create structure and improve how we manage risk across the SME credit lifecycle.

This is a high-impact 12-month role at the intersection of Risk, Commercial, Operations and Data. You will help redesign processes, governance and ways of working so that growth is supported by strong risk practices, clear accountabilty and sustainable performance.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Driving delivery of key risk and business initiatives, with clear plans, follow-up and stakeholder alignment

  • Improving end-to-end credit risk processes across underwriting, monitoring, data and governance

  • Designing and implementing clearer roles, controls and decision points across teams and markets

  • Ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, governance standards and internal policies

  • Translating complex topics into practical actions, reporting and management information

  • Coordinating stakeholders across functions and supporting effecive decision-making

We believe you will succeed in this role if you:

  • Bring solid experience from banking or financial services, ideally within credit risk, credit lifecycle or risk transformation

  • Have led or coordinated complex projects, process improvement initiatives or change programmes

  • Are comfortable operating in a regulated environment with strong governance requirements

  • Work in a structured and hands-on way, with the ability to move complex topics forward

  • Bring a modern, digital mindset and are comfortable using AI- enabled tools to improve analysis, simplify work, and support better decision-making

  • Communicate clearly and turn analysis into action

Education and technical skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering or a related field

  • Experience using AI tools such as Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar

  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills; experience with BI tools or SQL is an advantage

  • Fluent in English; Nordic languages are a plus

This postion is a fixed term (12 months) full time position located in Lysaker and requries a work permit in Norway.
