How This Role Impacts Live Oak and its People
The role of risk management is critical to the continued success of Live Oak in helping design new products effectively, ensuring regulatory expectations are met, and being a partner/challenger as the need arises. The key skill is being proactive in these areas and helping the organization stay ahead of potential issues.
What You’ll Do at Live Oak
Work closely with the Head of ERM to identify the key risks to the Bank, using its Risk Taxonomy to ensure adequate coverage and quality of risk measures
Produce recurring and ad hoc risk reporting to key stakeholders including CRO, Senior Management, Board of Directors, and Regulators
Primary Owner for Regulatory Relations program between Live Oak and its primary Regulators the FDIC, NC State, and Federal Reserve
Primary owner for running the Risk Governance activities for the ERM team including its committees and policy structure
Primary owner of the Business Continuity program
Work closely with the Head of ERM and CRO to ensure that the CRC/MRMC agenda, meeting, and follow-up actions are conducted in a manner that provides optimal risk governance
Work closely with Business Owners to ensure that key controls relating to the BCDR program are operating effectively in the course of periodic reviews
Serves as the primary contact for Regulators and coordinates exams, ongoing monitoring, and finding activity with business units
Provides leadership in the Business Continuity program, ensuring Business Impact Analysis is carried out effectively, RTO/RPO analysis is performed and communicated to the Technology team; relevant governance documents are updated gaps are identified, addressed, or escalated as appropriate
Provides proactive partnership and effective challenge with all members of the LOB team as appropriate
Maintain a high standard of regulatory awareness including BSA, AML, CIP, and OFAC
Required Experience
Bachelor’s degree
5-10 years of risk management or similar experience
Ability to design and operate risk functionality
Demonstrated ability to work with business units to increase the level of risk maturity
Work comfortably as a team member, leader, or SME depending on the situation
Strong technical and human interaction skills

Preferred Experience
ABA Certified Enterprise Risk professional (CERP) certification

The base pay range for this position is $113,080.00 - $154,200.00 per year. Compensation may also include annual bonuses and long-term incentives, subject to various metrics and company policy. A candidate’s salary is determined by several factors including travel, relevant work experience or skills and expertise.Please note that we provide at least the minimum requirement of paid sick leave to our employees who reside in states that require employer-paid sick leave, including but not limited to Arizona, California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington.
