Risk Analyst, AML

Melbourne Full Time
Hi, we’re PEXA
Every time a house is bought, sold or refinanced in Australia your lawyer, conveyancer and lender will most likely use a digital platform to settle your property, this is where we come in. PEXA’s world-first digital settlement platform has revolutionised the way we exchange property in Australia helping over 20,000 people a week safely settle their homes.

Since starting our journey in 2010, we now employ a team of over 1,000 people working across multiple continents. We’re still growing, innovating and looking ahead, but behind our greatest achievements, there is a team of curious creators and big thinkers. That’s why, we’re looking for ambitious people like yourself to join the team.

A day in the life

In this role, your day will balance hands-on AML operations with shaping how things work behind the scenes. You’ll spend time reviewing onboarding cases, working through screening alerts (sanctions, PEP and adverse media), and assessing KYB outcomes. Especially where corporate structures or beneficial ownership get complex. You’ll manage your own queue, prioritising tasks to meet service levels while making sound, risk-based decisions. When something doesn’t look right, you’ll dig deeper, apply judgement, and escalate where needed.

Alongside this, you’ll help improve how the work gets done. You might document a new workflow, refine a process, or contribute to testing (UAT) to make sure systems and controls are working as expected before go-live. You’ll work closely with colleagues across Risk, Product, Technology and Operations, sharing insights, resolving issues, and helping ensure processes remain practical, compliant and easy to follow. Over time, you’ll start to spot patterns, identify opportunities for improvement, and play a key role in making our AML capability stronger and more efficient.

About the role

This role exists to support and strengthen PEXA Clear’s AML/CTF capability, combining operational delivery with process design and continuous improvement. You’ll help translate regulatory requirements into practical workflows, while also ensuring day-to-day AML activities are executed accurately and efficiently. We’re looking for someone who brings a balance of operational expertise and curiosity. Someone who enjoys both doing the work and improving how it’s done.

Key capabilities for success:

  • AML operational execution and risk assessment (KYC/KYB, screening, escalation handling)
  • Process design, documentation and UAT readiness
  • Operational delivery with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Stakeholder collaboration across Risk, Legal, Product and Technology

What success looks like (6–12 months):

  • Confidently managing AML onboarding and monitoring workflows, meeting quality and turnaround expectations
  • Applying sound judgement in complex KYB and screening cases, with appropriate escalation
  • Producing clear, practical documentation for processes, controls and workflows
  • Contributing to UAT, change initiatives and go-live readiness activities
  • Identifying and implementing improvements that reduce rework, increase efficiency or strengthen controls
  • Building strong, trusted relationships with stakeholders across the business
