RIA Regional Consultant – Mid‑Atlantic – VP2

We are currently hiring for a distribution role within State Street Investment Management’s Client Coverage Group. This position is part of our U.S. Wealth team and is focused on building and expanding relationships with Registered Investment Advisory (RIA) firms and Bank Trust organizations across the Mid‑Atlantic region. The Regional Consultant will partner with financial advisors and key decision‑makers to drive business development, product placement, and sales activation. The role serves as a trusted advisor and represents the U.S. Wealth Group’s distribution efforts throughout the territory.

This is a remote sales position, based in one of the following states: MD, VA, or NC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and grow key client and strategic partner relationships with RIAs and Bank Trust firms across the Mid‑Atlantic region as a member of the U.S. Wealth Intermediary Team.
  • Identify client needs across a range of business models and deliver relevant market insights, product information, investment ideas, and sales support.
  • Demonstrate strong investment acumen and act as an expert on State Street Investment Management solutions, including ETFs, cash strategies, DC solutions, and model portfolios.
  • Educate clients and prospects on product positioning, holdings, and investment results, and clearly articulate what differentiates State Street Investment Management from competitors.
  • Drive Net New Assets (NNA) and Net New Revenue (NNR) by cultivating new relationships and deepening engagement with existing partners across concentrated areas of wealth.
  • Lead and coordinate regional travel with key sub‑advisory partners and index providers, including World Gold Council, DoubleLine Capital, Blackstone, Bridgewater Associates, and Galaxy Asset Management.
  • Leverage centers of influence across the RIA ecosystem, including custody and TAMP partners such as Charles Schwab and Envestnet, as well as wealth platforms like Ethic.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal business partners, including Internal Sales, Marketing, Research, and Client Enablement teams, to effectively deliver SSIM and SPDR ETF resources.
  • Partner closely with the Internal Sales Team to deliver comparative analytics, capital markets insights, and actionable investment ideas to clients.
  • Promote awareness and understanding of State Street Investment Management’s strategy and priorities across the territory.
  • Mentor and support internal team members, contributing to a collaborative and high‑performing culture.
  • Demonstrate risk excellence and uphold the highest ethical standards in all client and internal interactions.
  • Pursue continuous improvement by refining sales skills and engaging in ongoing professional development.
  • Travel extensively throughout the region and periodically nationwide to attend conferences, partner meetings, and industry events.

These skills will help you succeed in this role

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses required.
  • CFA, CIMA, or similar investment industry designations preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in the investment management industry, with at least 5 years in sales or business development, preferably within the RIA channel.
  • Strong investment acumen and technical proficiency across ETFs, mutual funds, separate accounts, model portfolios, and related products.
  • Proven ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal partners.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship‑building skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership, initiative, and commitment to excellence.
  • Ability to adapt quickly, think creatively, and operate with sound judgment.
  • Willingness to travel extensively and manage a dynamic, territory‑based schedule.

Salary Range:

$110,000 - $188,750 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
