Job Description
The Clean Energy & Green Building Intern will work with several programs CLEAResult delivers on behalf of Rhode Island Energy in Rhode Island. They will learn how utility sponsored energy efficiency programs work and will have the opportunity to participate in building energy modeling, energy assessments, site construction inspections and testing for new construction homes.
We are looking for someone with an interest in green building energy modeling, design and construction verification. Excellent interpersonal skills are a must for this internship as the selected candidate will represent CLEAResult to a wide variety of stakeholders including utility clients and customers, industry partners, trade allies and training attendees.
The Clean Energy and Green Building Intern will work up to 20 hours per week and will support the following Energy Efficiency programs:
Residential New Construction and Energy Codes & Standards – supporting energy efficient, fossil fuel free construction
HVAC – supporting increased state-wide adoption of heat pumps
Income Eligible Services – providing energy efficiency solutions for income eligible residents
Building Performance Consulting – providing green certification and verification services for clients
Responsibilities include:
Assisting with energy modeling of residential new construction buildings
Attending on-site inspections of buildings under construction, energy assessments and weatherization contractor QC inspections
Compiling heat pump performance data
