Position Overview:
The Respiratory Therapy Tech Student assess, treat, and monitor patients with respiratory diseases and conditions. This includes the delivery of medicated and non-medicated therapy as ordered by a provider. The Respiratory Therapy Tech Student assists in departmental operations by assisting with supplies and equipment management.
Key Responsibilities [within student scope]
Assesses the appropriateness of therapy and makes recommendations.
Performs, assesses, and instructs the effective administration of oxygen, aerosol medications, humidification, suctioning, and chest physiotherapy.
Provides patient/family education concerning the safe and effective use of equipment where applicable. Performs additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Highschool/GED
Must be a student licensed by the Kentucky Board of Respiratory Care as a limited License Respiratory Care Practitioner in the state of Kentucky and in accordance with the provisions of KRS chapter 314A.
Must maintain active BLS training. [Within 30 days of hire]
