Works under the direct supervision of Dr. Derek Hansford on extracellular vesicle microfluidic affinity collection technology; assist with experimental set up and operation in Prof. Hansford’s lab in the Department of Biomedical Engineering in Fontana Laboratory and with collaborators in their lab spaces; data acquisition of properties of extracellular vesicles; cell culture in adherent bioreactors for extracellular vesicle growth and harvest of known cell phenotypes; fabrication of microfluidic affinity capture and release chips for selective collection of extracellular vesicles; support and mentor other laboratory members and collaborating lab members and students; maintains and manages laboratory equipment; assists with research supply maintenance; assists with writing publications and research grant applications.
Qualifications
Required: BS in Engineering (Biomedical, Chemical, Materials, or Equivalent) or equivalent experience required (4 years of relevant experience required with High School diploma or GED, 2 years of relevant experience required with Associate's Degree, or 0 years of relevant experience required with Bachelor's Degree. )
Desired: previous research experience with microfluidic chip fabrication and operation, affinity capture of extracellular vesicles, and cell culture in adherent bioreactors
The target hiring range for this job profile is $19.28 - $25.19 per hour, paid biweekly. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limit to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post offer process.
