The ideal candidate will have experience in molecular and cellular biology, molecular virology, cellular and small animal models of alphaviral infection, rodent colony management, next-generation sequencing, and the quantitative and qualitative assessment of alphaviral pathogenesis. The position involves working with mouse models, as well as application modern multiomic technologies. This job requires data analysis and presentation at lab meetings, conferences, and other venues, as well as report preparation. The candidate will also be expected to mentor and direct trainees, such as summer interns and undergraduate students, as well as laboratory technicians and colleagues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Generate complex mouse models of alphaviral infection and evaluate innate immune signaling and inflammation both in vitro and in vivo.
Conduct experiments to generate novel IRAK1 and inflammatory disease mouse models.
Conduct cellular and molecular biology, virology, and immunology experiments to define the molecular mechanism and impacts of the dysregulation of IRAK1-dependent signaling are related to pathogenesis.
