Position Description:

The Department of Chemistry at the University of Louisville is recruiting a Research Resource Facilities Specialist IV for their Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) facility. The position is a full-time staff position in the College of Arts and Sciences.

The successful candidate will oversee the use and maintenance of the Department’s Varian 400, 500, and 700 MHz NMR and Bruker EMXplus Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) instruments. The manager will be responsible for organizing user access and billing, training and assisting post-doctoral, graduate and undergraduate student users, and participating in collaborative research with faculty and working with local industry. There may be possible opportunities for teaching if desired.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with magnetic resonance instruments that include troubleshooting at the board level.

  • Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry, physics or a related field

  • one year of experience in NMR and EPR spectroscopy is highly desirable.

Target Compensation Maximum:

$100,553.00

Target Compensation Minimum:

$67,035.00

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
