The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking a motivated entry-level Research Laboratory Technician to join a newly opening proteomics research laboratory on a full-time basis at the University of Miami medical campus in Miami, Florida. Ideal Candidates

CORE JOB SUMMARY
The Research Laboratory Technician aids scientists in their experiments by monitoring and recording their findings. Moreover, the Research Laboratory Technician ensures laboratory compliance with applicable safety regulations.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Cleans, sanitizes, maintains, and operates laboratory equipment.
2. Keeps records of research data and assists in analyzing it.
3. Maintains inventory of laboratory equipment and supplies and places orders in a timely fashion.
4. Proofreads and assists in the writing of manuscripts, grant proposals, and lab protocols.
5. Prepares reports of experiment results.
6. Performs research by completing simple experiments or steps in more complicated studies.
7. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent/relevant experience, certification or license

Experience: Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment.
