The successful candidate will work on the characterization and determine the optimal parameters for the optical and mechanical properties. This role is central to our efforts to push the boundaries of AM material and process innovation and supports NTU’s commitment to sustainable and impactful technological development.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and conduct experiments to optimize silica glass additive manufacturing (AM) processing parameters and conditions.
  • Fabricate and characterize 3D-printed glass materials, including optical, structural, and mechanical analyses.
  • Establish process-structure-property relationships to determine optimal material performance.
  • Develop and validate functional glass components or prototypes.
  • Contribute to project deliverables and support the preparation and submission of research grant and funding applications.
  • Collaborate with faculty members and researchers on interdisciplinary research projects.
  • Prepare technical reports and scientific publications, present research findings at conferences, and support project deliverables.
  • Assist in mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Requirements:

  • PhD in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • Strong foundation in glass materials, particularly silica and related glass systems, with understanding of structure-property relationships.
  • Hands-on experience in additive manufacturing (AM) and materials processing.
  • Expertise in materials characterization techniques, including UV-Vis spectroscopy, optical band gap analysis, XRD, FTIR, and microhardness testing.
  • Experience in experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation of results.
  • Proven track record of scientific publications and conference presentations.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and research project execution skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.

We regret to inform that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
