The School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (CCEB) invites applications for the position of Research Fellow.
The Research Fellow will take on a significant role in Asst Prof QIAO YUAN’s lab to drive Chemical Biology aspects to investigate gut microbiota-derived metabolites in the host.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for the design and development of protein biosensors/analytical methods to detect gut microbiota-derived metabolites.
Responsible for chemical synthesis of bacterial metabolites and assay development for biological characterization.
Play a part in the AI-assisted method development to optimize LC-MS/MS methodologies and software development.
Job Requirements:
A recent PhD graduate with expertise in Chemical Biology, Microbiology, Biomedical Engineering or related field.
Must have research experience with molecular cloning, recombinant protein overexpression and purification, CRISPR-cas techniques for gene deletion and overexpression, mammalian cell culture. Prior experience in chemical synthesis and/or structural biology are preferred.
Demonstrate strong publication track-record, as evidenced by at least first-author publication in high quality journals.
Must have strong organizational, critical thinking, interpersonal skills.
Must be highly motivated and independent and be able to supervise PhD/master students.
