Job Summary

The Water Solutions business in DuPont has an exciting opportunity to work on product and process development in our Reverse Osmosis and Nanofiltration R&D organization located in Edina, Minnesota. Under minimal guidance you will conduct experiments, perform complex technical operations, run information search/analysis projects, and interpret experimental results. We’re interested in developing your capabilities such that you can both execute projects devised by our world class team of scientist and engineer experts and also grow into an influential expert shaping the development of future generations of membranes.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Safe operation and stewardship of the R&D areas (lab, pilot plant).

  • Active participation in department and site safety initiatives.

  • Write and maintain standard operating procedures and safety documentation and effectively utilize MOC processes.

  • Operate and maintain existing equipment and design and set up new equipment as needed.

  • Assist and participate in the inventive process with other professionals, providing technical solutions in the development of new membranes, modules, manufacturing processes and test methods.

  • Utilize knowledge and skills to independently plan, prepare and execute hands-on experimental and skills to independently plan, prepare and execute hands-on experimental work, analyze and interpret data, and suggest modifications

  • Maintain, organize and summarize results of experiments using notebook entries, regulatory documentation, data analysis, technical reports, etc.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as math and computer skills.

  • Demonstrated computer skills using PC-based applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.

  • Broad theoretical grounding and understanding of engineering fundamentals.

  • Demonstrated competency in planning projects and multitasking.

  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting established deadlines.

Education & Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering discipline – Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent is required

  • 3+  years of experience in a research or manufacturing environment.

  • This job requires the ability to work in a laboratory and manufacturing environment

  • Familiar with research software and technical tools
