Research Engineer II (Physics/ Material Science/Engineering)

Established in 2010, the Energy Research Institute @ NTU (ERI@N) is a pan-university research institute that focuses on systems-level research for tropical megacities. It performs translational research that covers the energy value chain from generation to innovative end-use solutions, motivated by industrialisation and deployment. ERI@N has multiple Interdisciplinary Research Programmes which focus on translational Research, Development & Deployment which focus on specific area of the energy value chain, and a number of Living labs and Testbeds which facilitate large scale technology deployment enabling validation and demonstration of real-world applications.

To support the research progress on Perovskite Thermal evaporation and its integration with tandem solar cells. The RE/RA will support the overall development of novel materials and structures based on perovskites

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out a wet chemistry experiment for materials synthesis

  • Carry out vacuum-based deposition of organic and inorganic materials

  • Fabricate Solar Cell Devices

  • Analysis and characterization of thin film materials

  • Analysis and testing of solar cells

  • Collaboration with the Solar Research Team

Job Requirements:

  • Possess Bachelor's or master’s degree in Physics or Material Science or Engineering.

  • Experience in Perovskite materials and solar cells

  • Expert in Perovskite Thermal Evaporation Good interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent teamwork awareness.

  • Good communication and writing in English - essential for data analysis and communication with stakeholders

  • Strong responsibility for research/work.
