Job Overview

The Georgetown University Berkley School of Nursing is looking to hire a Research Coordinator/Associate (RCA) to work with Dr. Rebecca Ellis’ research lab. The incumbent will work closely with Dr. Ellis and the research team to assist in various day-to-day operations, IRB applications and updates, data analysis, manuscript writing, and have previous research and content experience for the role.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assist with research study tasks, including subject recruitment, participant scheduling, preparation of study materials, participant enrollment, data collection and data entry.

  • Attend and schedule staff and study team meetings.

  • Communicate clearly and routinely with Research team members.

  • Assist with building/maintaining relationships with community partners.

  • Assist with research and manuscript preparation for publication and dissemination of results.

  • Assist with maintenance of social media and study website.

  • Assist with other research study tasks as needed.

  • Assist with preparing, tracking, and reconciling research-related expense reports, and manage reimbursements

Work Interactions

The RCA reports to PI Dr. Ellis who can provide guidance and support and will work closely with other Research Assistants. This position will support research across mental health, perinatal health, and health workforce portfolios. to ensure timely external communications, timelines and retention of study participants in the online surveys. This will involve regular monitoring of Lab workflows, RedCap, use of a Google Voice phone account to communicate with team members or participants and referring any questions or concerns to the PI. The RCA will revise the existing IRB application to update the planned studies, including responding to questions from IRB coordinators. The RCA will attend weekly team meetings with the PI. The RCA will use Google Drive to contribute to manuscripts in progress.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education and experience, including at least one year of related experience, or equivalent in education, training and experience. Graduate education is preferred.

  • Computer fluency with Microsoft Suite, Google Workspace, Zotero, and statistical software (SPSS or R preferred).

  • Excellent verbal and written communication 

  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Ability to work well in a team.

  • Attention to detail

  • Must be a highly motivated, self-starter, and able to manage time independently on a hybrid/remote team

 Pay Range 

The projected hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: $20.70 - $25.30. Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
