Assistant Professor of the Practice, Finance

Job Description:

The Dolan School of Business at Fairfield University invites applications for Professor of Practice in Wealth Management, beginning Fall 2026 and subject to budget approval. Candidate must have Master’s Degree and at least 10 years of work experience. CFA and CFP certifications are preferred. Candidates must have a strong commitment to engaged teaching. Commitment to innovation and demonstrated excellence in using technology in the classroom are required. Service to the department, school of business, university, community, and profession is expected. A faculty member may teach at either the Fairfield or Bridgeport campus or online.

Key responsibilities include:

• Reside in the Department of Finance and teach six courses per year, primarily in wealth management areas, with possible assignments of some finance courses during the initial years
• Collaborate with Chair of Finance Department and faculty to develop Minor/Concentration in Wealth Management during the first year and secure its approvals with various school and university committees
• Collaborate with the Dean and Director of Development to establish the Center of Wealth Management
• Direct the Center’s operations, which includes fostering relationships with industry professionals, firms and alumni to enhance the program’s relevance, internship and job opportunities for students.
• Serve actively as a faculty advisor to the student’s Wealth Management Club
• Collaborate with Chair of Finance Department to recruit qualified instructors for Wealth Management courses
• Advise students as a full-time faculty member
