Summary:

Performs a variety of routine and specialized laboratory tests and experimental procedures for the purposes of original research which generally are within a well-defined body of scientific knowledge and typically contribute to larger research efforts of independent investigators.

Salary range for this position is $59,537 - $75,091 which includes a comprehensive benefits package. The listed pay range reflects the range of potential compensation for this role. The actual offer may vary based on qualifications, skills, and experience.

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience

1. Master’s degree and the equivalent of eighteen (18) months of full-time professional research experience in a laboratory, clinical or scientific research environment; or
2. Bachelor’s degree and the equivalent of thirty (30) months of full-time professional research experience in a laboratory, clinical or scientific research environment.

Degrees must be conferred by an accredited school, college, or university, or by an institution recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and/or Health Research Incorporated as adhering to acceptable educational standards.

Summary:

The Hait Lab is hiring a full-time Research Associate within the Departments of Surgical Oncology and Molecular and Cellular Biology. The primary purpose of this position is to perform techniques to generate data supporting funded projects. Performs a variety of routine and specialized laboratory tests and experimental procedures utilizing molecular biology, 3D cell culture, animal models, and patient-derived models for cancer research studies.

The salary range is $57,247 - $68,788 annually, which includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience

1. Master’s degree and the equivalent of eighteen (18) months of full-time professional research experience in a laboratory, clinical, or scientific research environment; or

2. Bachelor’s degree and the equivalent of thirty (30) months of full-time professional research experience in a laboratory, clinical, or scientific research environment.

NOTE:

Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college, or university, or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.

Preferred Qualifications

The preferred candidate should have a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in biomedical science and work experience as a laboratory research scientist. The preferred candidate should have hands-on experience with laboratory animals, including xenografts, PDXs, and PDOs; 3D cell culture; histology techniques; and FACS, as well as writing/editing research papers, grants, and presentations. This individual will be responsible for conducting grant-funded research projects and must have high-level critical thinking skills and be able to independently drive a project. In addition, the preferred candidate is also expected, among other responsibilities, to help place orders, maintain/update/develop relevant laboratory inventories and IACUC/IBC/BDR protocols, track laboratory consumables/supplies/animal use/equipment, and ensure smooth lab operations.
