Research Assistant (Robotic navigation and object recognition)

We are looking for a Research Assistant to support the research for the project titled: Robotics Innovation Research Fund.

Key Responsibilities:

The Research Assistant will work on robotic navigation, manipulation control, vision-based object detection and identification, and robotic maintenance. The role of this position includes:

  • Literature survey of the latest robotic SLAM and navigation techniques.

  • Deployment of novel navigation approaches for smart obstacle avoidance in network-denial environment.

  • Development of a novel vision-based robotic manipulation control.

  • Deployment of developed methods in software modules in Unitree G1 robots.

  • Publication of research papers and IPs.

  • To assist project PI to coach research students.

Job Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields with past experience in embedded system, machine learning and software development.

  • Knowledge in robotic system development is a plus.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
