Research Associate (Electrical and Electronic Engineering / Computer Science)

The research areas include communication systems, 5G and beyond 5G systems, advanced sensing technologies, application of deep learning and AI for wireless systems, etc.

We invite applications for the position of Research Associate. The candidate shall support pioneering and innovative research in the application of flexible antennas for the beyond 5G wireless communication systems at School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, NTU. In this role, the candidate shall involve designing, modeling, and analyzing innovative flexible antenna-enabled communication systems to improve signal efficiency, channel capacity, and network performance. The successful candidate will conduct theoretical research, collaborate with faculty and researchers in the School of EEE, and contribute to high-impact publications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To undertake research and development in the topic of flexible antennas and NTU’s responsibilities.

  • Preparation of conference and journal papers for publication of research findings.

  • Collaborate with colleagues in School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering in the area of wireless communications.

  • Participation in all project meetings; preparation and presentation of talks, posters and reports to disseminate the results of these studies. 

  • Participation in national and international conferences and workshops to present the results of the project to a wider audience and to learn about current advances in the field. 

  • Any other duties appropriate to the grade as delegated by the Principal Investigator

Job Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or related field

  • Knowledge of flexible antennas, wireless communications, and machine learning

  • Good skill set in signal processing and optimization techniques 

  • Proficiency in Python for modeling and machine learning applications

  • Effective communication, teamwork, and presentation abilities

  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to meet research milestones and deadlines
