The research technician will work closely with members of the tree fruit group in the Department of Horticulture and Crop Science, particularly the apple program.
Responsibilities will include the following:
Executes planned research activities using observation, measurement, and analytical techniques in greenhouse and orchard; prepares research log sheets and maintains records in greenhouse and orchard; enters, consolidates and tabulates research data for analysis; performs library research on specified topics; performs propagation of plant material, harvest fruit and perform general plant maintenance activities.
Required minimum qualifications: A high school diploma or GED and minimum of 1 year of demonstrated experience required in work in field and greenhouse.
Preferred minimum qualifications: A BS or equivalent degree in horticulture or related field and 1-2 years of demonstrated experience required in work in field and greenhouse.

The salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to education, years of experience, and internal equity.
This position is located on The Ohio State University, College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, Wooster Campus.
