Position Summary:

The Audrain Lab at the Montreal Neurological Institute of McGill University is looking to hire a Research Assistant 2. The candidate will conduct behavioural and EEG sleep research under the supervision of Dr. Sam Audrain in young and older adults. The lab uses behavioral and brain imaging research to study cognitive functioning in typical adults and in people with memory dysfunction. 

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Conducts research projects using protocols, processes, and procedures with minimal supervision;
  • Assists with the development and execution of experiments using platforms such as Psychopy;
  • Builds data collection and analysis protocols for behavioural and EEG sleep studies;
  • Assists with data collection (behavioural, EEG/polysomnography, MRI);
  • Builds analysis pipelines, which may involve writing scripts to process and analyze behavioural and neuroimaging data in languages such as Python, Matlab, or Bash and/or using standard neuroimaging analysis software;
  • Conducts statistical analyses using tools such as R, Python, or Matlab;
  • Interprets research data and disseminates the results through presentations and reports, contributes to manuscripts;
  • Performs various administrative tasks related to the project including keeping data organized and properly documented, and ordering supplies;
  • Provides technical guidance and training to research staff including graduate and undergraduate students;
  • May assist with the preparation of grant applications and ethics protocols.


Qualifications:
A Master’s Degree is required for this position.

Knowledge of French and English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level 2 on a scale of 0-4.
